Groundbreaking HIV PrEP programme relaunches for 10 year anniversary
HIV prevention programme PrEPster - formed by activists in 2015 in response to inaction on education and implementation on HIV PrEP - relaunches today to mark its 10th year since being founded.
As new UK PrEP prescribing guidelines are about to be released, PrEPster's website brings PrEP users, and those considering PrEP, the most contemporary information on accessing this key HIV prevention medicine.
Dr Will Nutland co-founder of PrEPster and Director of The Love Tank says:
"Ten years after launching PrEPster, we return to our roots of educating and agitating for PrEP. With increasing numbers of people realising that PrEP might be for them, PrEPster is getting back out into communities to talk about PrEP, as we started to a decade ago".
Richard Kahwagi co-founder of PrEPster and Creative Director of The Love Tank says:
"As a new generation gets to learn about PrEP, the website provides a creative style relevant to those who should be at the frontline of PrEP access. PrEPster has historically reached out to communities underserved by mainstream HIV prevention activity and this relaunch renews our commitment to doing so".
The relaunch promotes new ways of accessing PrEP, including through NHS online PrEP services, and supports PrEP users in knowing how to stop, start and continue with their PrEP use. PrEPster plans outreach and community events throughout 2025.
The new PrEPster website includes bespoke illustrations by Italian activist Luca Modesti.
