HELP DESIGN the UK’s first inclusive health survey of queer communities.
2026
WHAT IS THE QUEER HEALTH SURVEY 2026?
In partnership with the SHARE Collaborative at Queen Mary University of London, The Love Tank is co-producing The Queer Health Survey, the UK’s first inclusive health survey of queer communities.
This research aims to gain a deeper understanding into the health, experiences, needs and priorities of queer communities across the country – as well as their preferences for survey design and engagement – with a key focus on communities who have been considered underserved by existing queer health survey work.
The Queer Health Survey will be produced in two phases:
PHASE 1 - Help design the survey
PHASE 2 - Complete the survey
Phase 1: help shape The Queer Health Survey 2026!
We are hosting paid workshops exploring the health needs and survey design preferences for members of queer communities who have been underserved by queer health research.

About the workshops
We will run 3 workshops with each group between January and April 2026.
Each workshop will last 1.5 hours.
Our online workshops will take place on Zoom.
Our in-person workshops will take place in a wheelchair accessible private building, with gender neutral bathrooms.
The space will have HEPA filters running throughout and masks and hand sanitiser will be available.
-
WHAT WILL THEY INVOLVE?
For the first workshop, collaborator groups will be invited to discuss their individual and community health needs.
The second workshop will concern the logistics of survey design, and how to capture data around demographics like sex, sexuality, gender, and ethnicity.
For the last workshop, collaborator groups will share their thoughts on the final draft of The Queer Health Survey 2026.
Everyone who takes part in all 3 workshops will be compensated £225 for their time.
-
CAN I REMAIN ANONYMOUS?
We take anonymity and ethics of care very seriously at The Love Tank. To take part, we will ask what name you wish us to use for you, as well as a valid email address so we can contact you about participating
The workshops will be recorded and transcribed to capture as much of your knowledge and ideas as possible. However, recordings will be deleted, and transcriptions will be anonymised (removing any identifying information) and limited to The Queer Health Survey research team.
-
WHY AM I NOT ELIGIBLE?
The demographics included in this round of research represent a mix of queer communities who are underserved in health research.
We intend to work with different collaborator groups in future iterations of The Queer Health Survey.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I FILL IN THE FORM?
Once you fill out the expression of interest form, the research team at The Love Tank will securely store your email.
If you have been selected, you will receive an email inviting you to join the workshops. This email will include the dates and times of the 3 workshops, an information sheet, and a consent form that you will be asked to return by email. Please make sure to check your spam/junk folder in case an email arrives there.
-
WHAT IF I AM NOT SELECTED?
If you have not been selected, we will email you to let you know.
We may not be able to select everyone to participate in the workshops, as we are striving to represent as many diverse voices from different queer communities in this research.
However, there may be opportunities for involvement in future workshops.
-
WHAT WILL HAPPEN AFTER THE WORKSHOPS?
Your participation in these workshops will lead to the design of the first iteration of The Queer Health Survey. We will disseminate this survey, hoping to reach queer communities across the country and learn more about their health needs, experiences, and priorities.
Once the survey submissions have been analysed, we will share the findings through a report and infographics, and we will create a learning tool for those wanting to do similar health surveys equitably within queer communities.

I HAVE QUESTIONS, WHO DO I CONTACT?
