Guide to prostate pleasure and health launched
In a brand-new collaboration with Prostate Cancer UK (PCUK), The Love Tank has launched the latest in the Little Pack Pocket Guide To series, with a guide on prostate pleasure and health.
The guide, written in partnership by both organisations, seeks to provide information about prostate health and pleasure through a queer lens. The content of the guides reflects why the prostate is a queer health issue.
Dr Will Nutland, Director of The Love Tank and one of the guide’s co-authors says:
“Our initial approach to PCUK was influenced by queer people directly involved with The Love Tank who had recent experiences with prostate health. The guide builds on the expertise of both organisations: our reach into key queer communities and PCUK’s excellent expertise in this area”.
Dr Benjamin Weil, Head of Research at The Love Tank, who also co-authored the guide says:
“Much prostate information is focused on illness or what to do when things go wrong. This new guide strikes a balance between the joys and pleasures that the prostate can bring, along with how anyone with a prostate can keep their prostate as healthy as possible”.
Phil Samba, Programme Coordinator for Research at The Love Tank says:
“1 in 4 Black people who have a prostate will be diagnosed with prostate cancer. This isn’t only a queer health issue, but it’s a Black queer health issue. This collaboration helps us to bring potentially life-saving information right into our communities”.
